On Sunday, Dec. 15, TEECS’ students from grades K-8 performed a Winter Concert at the Jewish Heritage Senior Citizen Center in Somerset. TEECS’ music teacher, Mrs. Taylor, directed the event with TEECS’ 11th grade student, Akshat, helping to organize it.

Together, they made the event enjoyable for the residents and a huge success for everyone involved.

Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School is committed to organizing more events like these all year long throughout the community. In light of Wednesday, Dec. 11, shooting that took place in Jersey City, now designated a hate crime, these kinds of events are extremely important in reminding youth that community members of all faiths and beliefs can celebrate together and live in peace.
