Lottery Application

APPLY NOW!

Thank you for your interest in Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School.
The deadline to apply for the 2025-2026 lottery for Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School is January 24, 2025.  The lottery will be held on February 8, 2025, at 10 am at Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School.  Parents are welcome to attend the lottery, however, attendance is not mandatory.
Please fill in the following information completely.  Applications are limited to one per student.  If a student appears more than once on the waiting list due to a duplicate application, TEECS will delete all entries except the last one.  Only applications received for students that currently reside in one of our home districts of Franklin Township, North Brunswick, and South Brunswick are entered into our lottery.  The lottery creates a waiting list for each grade that is used to fill available seats, if any.  If we exhaust the waiting list for any given grade, we will then offer seats to students that live in other districts.  Please note that Kindergarten students must meet their local school district’s age requirements.
As per our Admissions Policy, any applications received from non-resident students and/or after the due date will be added to the end of the waiting list in the order that they were received.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Lottery Application, please email Mrs. Graf at info@energysmartschool.org.  You can read more about our admissions policy here: https://teecs.org/admissions/

Transportation is the responsibility of your local school district.  Upon enrollment, your student’s information is sent automatically to your local school district’s transportation office, which coordinates and oversees all bus routes and aide-in-lieu.  Students are only permitted to ride their assigned bus.
  • Residents of Franklin Township – Your local school district provides a school bus to and from TEECS.  You will receive your bus pass directly from their transportation department.  Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian until the bus pass is received.

  • Residents of North Brunswick – Your local school district provides a school bus to and from TEECS, however, since the cost of busing exceeds the budget set by the state of New Jersey, parents who choose to use school busing for their children will need to pay the difference.  You will receive your bus pass directly from their transportation department.  Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian until the bus pass is received.  North Brunswick will reimburse parents who choose to provide their own transportation at a set rate (aide-in-lieu).

  • Residents of All Other Districts – Your local school district does not provide a bus and transportation to and from TEECS is the responsibility of the parent.  Some districts will reimburse you for transportation costs at a set rate (aide-in-lieu) depending on your distance from the school.
