Governor Murphy Congratulates TEECS Robotics Teams that Qualify to World Championship
Today, Wednesday, April 10th, two of TEECS robotics teams, one high school and one elementary that qualified to Worlds, received a call from Governor Phil Murphy! Both the high school FTC and elementary school VEX IQ teams gathered in a classroom to receive high praise from the Governor for all their hard work. They are excited to represent the state of New Jersey at the World Championships and the Governor is excited for them.
“Congratulations, so impressed by everything I hear. You guys are rockin’ it!” said the Governor. He went on to say, “You make our state proud. You are right in the sweet spot of who we are as a state. We are an innovation economy and that’s where you all are living and getting ready to go on to big and great things in your lives ahead. I wish you nothing but the very best! I hope I get a chance to come out and give you all a high fives in person!”
The TEECS community thanks Governor Phil Murphy for taking time out of his schedule to speak to our students. His encouragement has boosted their already high spirits.
The FTC High School Robotics team is heading to the World Championship in Houston, TX on April 17th! They received an Inspire award: which is the most prestigious award! In addition, they received a Motivate Award and Division Finalist Award at the State Tournament.
The VEX IQ Elementary School Robotics team is heading to the World Championship as well for the Fourth Time in Dallas, TX! TEECS Elementary Team – X-Stream – won First Place receiving both the TeamWork Championship and Robot Skills Champions awards at the NJ State Championship Tournament.
