TEECS’s Model UN Club went to the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN)

Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School’s Model UN Club went to the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) from March 18th to the 21st. This is a Model UN Conference with thousands of students from around the world in the heart of NYC.

Students in TEECS’ Model UN Club, competed, discussed, and pursued diplomacy on issues from a variety of topics from UNHRC: UN Human Rights Council, Crisis: Arctic Council, ICC: International Criminal Court, ICJ: International Court of Justice, UNSC: UN Security Council, to UNICEF: United Nations Children’s Fund.

The following students, Arnav Lakhia, Sneha Shinde, Saarah AbdulMaajid, Sonia Khan, Kris Chaudhary, and Rishi Kumar Evany put in countless hours over the four days of the conference to push their intellectual potential and diplomacy skills to their limits. Each and every student did an amazing job and have all really improved over the course of the year!

Special mention goes to Arnav Lakhia, who earned the National High School Model United Nations 2022 Security Council Award of Excellence for his phenomenal work in committee as the delegate of India! Congratulations Arnav and keep up all the hard work!
