04 Mar TEECS FIRST BOOK TASTING
TEECS’ elementary students worked up an appetite for reading! As part of the Read Across America celebrations, TEECS transformed the cafeteria into a book café for our young readers to sit and browse a variety of books.
Teachers from grades K-6 displayed their favorite books for students to “sample”. Each section was labeled with a genre or theme to guide them during their café visit.
Students had the opportunity to rotate throughout the tasting creating their own menu of titles they would like to read in the coming weeks. As a special treat, students were also given cookies to enjoy while they browsed.
This event was a great way to introduce students to a wide variety of books, authors, and illustrators.
