15 Nov Seniors Outdoor Auto-diversity Lab
The 12th graders in Ms. Suarez AP Environmental Science class had been learning about species diversity in different types of ecosystems. On a very nice Monday afternoon, students were allowed to conduct their “Auto-Diversity Lab” outdoors. The lab was to collect data on the diversity of the cars in our very own school parking lot. From Hondas to Fords to Teslas they identified them by “species” and calculated species diversity and species evenness. Students enjoyed the competition of achieving accuracy while also enjoying the fresh air. Student consensus: Honda’s outnumbered!
