11 Sep 9/11 Remembrance at Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School
Today, TEECS recognized September 11th by remembering and honoring the heroes from that fateful day in 2001. While many of our students were not yet born, it is important for us as a school to recognize this day so we can understand the bravery, kindness, and strength that people showed during a very difficult time in our country’s history. Students in elementary and middle school dressed down in coordinated red, white, and blue to show their patriotism by representing our flag’s colors. Students were also given Patriot’s Day stickers to wear throughout the day. Students in grades 4 through 8 gathered in the gym for an assembly, during which the National Anthem was played, and selected students read aloud their essays on the importance of patriotism.
